Largest US Stock Movers — October 13, 2026
Query: top movers today · data as of 2026-10-13
Built a fresh single-session movers screen for the 2026-10-13 tape: Top 25 gainers (led by Fermi Inc. and Enerflex, with a distinct downstream-energy cluster in refiners PARR/PBF/CVI and oilfield services) and Top 25 losers (dominated by clinical-stage biotech and gene therapy selloffs, plus single-name hits in Six Flags, Pershing Square, AST SpaceMobile and Cipher Digital). Both tables include sector/industry, 1D/1M/6M returns, market cap, relative volume, momentum potential, TTM P/E, days since earnings and distance from the 52-week high, ranked purely by 1-day return, with row-level commentary and a narrative explaining the downstream-energy bid and the duration-driven derating of pre-revenue biotech.
Session October 13, 2026: the tape split the market into two camps. The gainers were dominated by downstream Energy names - refiners and oilfield services riding crack-spread economics even as crude slipped - plus a rebound in beaten-down consumer and tech-crossover names. The losers were lopsided: a wave of small-cap clinical-stage biotech names and one well-known gene-therapy complex gave back sharply, alongside single-name event damage in media and digital-infrastructure names. Relative volume was extreme in several of the decliners, pointing to news-driven, not drift-driven, selling.
Top Gainers - October 13, 2026 (1-Day Return, Descending)
| Symbol | Security Name | Sector | Industry | 1D Return | 1M Return | 6M Return | Market Cap ($B) | Relative Volume | Momentum Potential | P/E (TTM) | Days Since Earnings | % From 52W High | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FRMI | Fermi Inc. | Real Estate | REIT - Specialty | 14.46% | -26.34% | -29.55% | 2.3855 | 4.5198 | 24.6 | — | — | -87.60% | Small REIT that has been in freefall all month — this bounce is a dead-cat rally off a deeply depressed base rather than a change in the story. With no recent earnings backdrop, treat the move as positioning in a very thin name. |
| EFXT | Enerflex Ltd | Energy | Oil & Gas Equipment & Services | 14.37% | 24.28% | 21.84% | 2.9479 | 1.9619 | 67.1 | 62.59 | 68 | -2.99% | The cleanest read on the day: energy services leverage to the same downstream margin story lifting the refiners. Multi-year high momentum score signals the trend is being bought, not faded. |
| EVH | Evolent Health, Inc | Health Care | Health Information Services | 8.24% | 12.20% | 83.27% | 0.5201 | 0.8336 | 40.7 | — | 68 | -43.77% | Value-based care / specialty health plan manager rebounding hard off a washed-out base. Health-care services names have been the funded side of the sector barbell while clinical-stage biotech gets liquidated. |
| PARR | Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. Comm | Energy | Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing | 8.13% | 10.01% | 42.08% | 4.503 | 1.1694 | 89.6 | 5.27 | 69 | 0.00% | Refiner sitting at a fresh 52-week high with a single-digit P/E — crack-spread economics, not crude, are driving the group. Already extended; the risk is chasing into an RSI-75-plus print. |
| PBF | PBF Energy Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing | 7.23% | 29.50% | 136.47% | 10.807 | 0.9931 | 36.5 | 7.99 | 75 | 0.00% | Second consecutive month of leadership for the refiners; product margins are carrying the group even as WTI falls. Momentum score is deceptively low for a name at new highs, which suggests the move is still early relative to its cash-flow generation. |
| CVI | CVR Energy Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing | 7.15% | 29.80% | 110.80% | 5.1793 | 0.7814 | 41.1 | 91.48 | 75 | 0.00% | Refiner with a hefty-looking trailing multiple that distorts the picture — normalized mid-cycle earnings power is far higher than the headline TTM figure implies. Trades as pure crack-spread beta alongside PBF and PARR. |
| FWRG | First Watch Restaurant Group, I | Consumer Discretionary | Restaurants | 6.93% | 5.99% | 4.15% | 0.743 | 1.8928 | 9.7 | 43 | 70 | -35.48% | Casual dining chain bouncing off its lows, but still far below the 52-week high. Restaurant traffic has been the weak link in consumer discretionary; this looks like a short-covering move rather than a demand inflection. |
| PTLO | Portillo's Inc. | Consumer Discretionary | Restaurants | 6.79% | 12.32% | -17.99% | 0.3307 | 2.7764 | 2.1 | 25.33 | 68 | -29.85% | Deep-value Chicago-style fast casual with the highest relative volume in the restaurant cohort — something specific is being re-rated here, though the momentum score argues the trend setup is fragile. |
| GPRE | Green Plains, Inc. | Materials | Chemicals | 6.71% | 6.64% | 1.23% | 1.0921 | 0.9496 | 33.1 | 9.33 | 68 | -18.98% | Ethanol producer benefiting from the same energy-complex bid. Margins are commodity-driven and volatile; note the low forward multiple reflects cyclical peak-earnings skepticism, not quality. |
| QDEL | QuidelOrtho Corporation | Health Care | Medical Devices | 6.42% | 26.80% | -18.59% | 0.9669 | 1.8589 | 11.7 | — | 67 | -60.15% | Diagnostics name rebounding after a brutal stretch. Medical devices were the epicenter of the day's health-care selling elsewhere, so this is an idiosyncratic bounce rather than a sector read-through. |
| BH | Biglari Holdings Inc. Class B Common Stock | Consumer Discretionary | Restaurants | 6.16% | 6.33% | 15.91% | 1.2357 | 0.6005 | 69.9 | — | — | -18.63% | Holding company that trades by appointment — very light relative volume means the move carries little informational weight. The interesting angle is the large discount to the sum of its parts, not the daily tape. |
| PSIX | Power Solutions International, | Industrials | Specialty Industrial Machinery | 6.07% | 34.67% | -37.78% | 1.2257 | 0.8891 | 39.5 | 18.07 | 67 | -46.20% | Industrial engine and power-generation supplier riding data-center and backup-power demand. The strong monthly trend against a deeply negative six-month figure shows a sharp narrative reset in progress. |
| LIFE | Ethos Technologies Inc. | Financials | Insurance Brokers | 6.02% | 0.64% | 169.64% | 2.574 | 0.8011 | 99.8 | 32.47 | 70 | -5.74% | Insurance brokerage with a very high momentum score and a six-month move that dwarfs anything else in the financials complex. Financials broadly are unloved, which makes this idiosyncratic outperformance notable. |
| SUPX | SuperX AI Technology Limited - Ordinary Shares | Information Technology | Software - Infrastructure | 5.92% | -12.09% | -13.72% | 0.3542 | 0.9732 | 0.2 | — | — | -89.73% | AI-infrastructure small cap with no earnings history — the bounce is a reflex off a nearly 90% drawdown. Speculative positioning; nothing fundamental anchors the price. |
| NSIT | Insight Enterprises, Inc. | Information Technology | Electronics & Computer Distribution | 5.88% | 8.67% | 151.60% | 5.1616 | 0.7774 | 85.5 | 26.02 | 68 | 0.00% | IT hardware reseller at a fresh 52-week high with a triple-digit six-month gain. Enterprise hardware refresh and AI server distribution are the tailwind; the risk is that the trade is already consensus. |
| CNXC | Concentrix Corporation | Information Technology | Information Technology Services | 5.85% | -7.89% | -1.76% | 1.6474 | 0.8427 | 15.8 | — | 13 | -43.35% | Customer-experience outsourcer popping despite a negative monthly trend. Business-process services are being repriced as AI threatens the seat-based model — a bounce here is likely relief, not repair. |
| GRNT | Granite Ridge Resources, Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas E&P | 5.82% | -0.59% | 0.04% | 0.6714 | 0.8544 | 26.5 | 28.28 | 67 | -16.69% | Small-cap E&P participating in the broad energy bid. Beta to crude and gas with limited scale; the flat six-month return shows it has gone nowhere while the refiners compounded. |
| ZURA | Zura Bio Limited - Class A Ordinary shares | Health Care | Biotechnology | 5.75% | -18.81% | -26.05% | 0.4054 | 12.9057 | 21.2 | — | 63 | -39.91% | Clinical-stage biotech bouncing on the highest relative volume of any gainer — almost certainly a data or financing headline. Immaterial to the tape but a reminder that single-asset biotech moves are binary events. |
| CDW | CDW Corporation | Information Technology | Information Technology Services | 5.71% | 0.18% | 18.12% | 18.9989 | 1.4802 | 83.2 | 18.29 | 69 | -4.64% | IT solutions reseller rallying on nearly 1.5x volume, a rare bright spot in a technology complex that saw semiconductor equipment names give back big gains. Scale and a reasonable multiple make it the more defensible end of the hardware trade. |
| CRSR | Corsair Gaming, Inc. | Information Technology | Computer Hardware | 5.68% | 9.90% | 133.61% | 1.4777 | 0.7262 | 99.5 | 46.19 | 67 | -0.21% | Gaming peripherals maker at effectively a new 52-week high after a triple-digit six-month run. Consumer hardware tied to gaming and PC upgrade cycles; the high momentum score says trend traders still own it. |
| FTK | Flotek Industries, Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas Equipment & Services | 5.54% | 2.77% | 78.09% | 0.9805 | 0.7536 | 99.4 | 26.8 | 69 | -30.27% | Oilfield chemistry specialist with the maximum momentum score, though it remains far below its high. A speculation-grade name in the energy complex rather than a core holding. |
| VG | Venture Global, Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas Midstream | 5.41% | -9.13% | 11.07% | 34.6013 | 0.842 | 46 | 10.56 | 63 | -21.05% | LNG exporter rebounding after a rough month. Midstream gas infrastructure has a long-duration growth story tied to global LNG demand — the key swing factor is project execution and contract timing, not the daily barrel. |
| RERE | ATRenew Inc. | Consumer Discretionary | Internet Retail | 5.36% | -0.76% | -17.95% | 0.8705 | 0.3842 | 13 | 15.12 | 54 | -38.01% | Chinese electronics-recycling platform — an ADR with very low relative volume, so the move is technically driven. Tradeable only with awareness of both the commodity-refurb cycle and ADR headline risk. |
| INFY | Infosys Limited | Information Technology | Information Technology Services | 5.26% | -1.72% | -16.45% | 46.1739 | 1.3167 | 11 | 14.07 | 82 | -43.62% | Indian IT services ADR up sharply after a rough month. The sector is caught between AI-driven deal-model disruption and cheap valuation; a bounce of this size usually reflects a single large deal or guidance headline. |
| TTMI | TTM Technologies, Inc. | Information Technology | Electronic Components | 5.23% | 2.54% | -3.84% | 12.231 | 1.4849 | 41.2 | 52.3 | 68 | -47.58% | Printed-circuit-board maker tied to defense and data-center demand, yet down sharply over six months — a divergence that suggests expectations were reset hard. Above-average volume confirms conviction behind this bounce. |

| ANL | Adlai Nortye Ltd. - American Depositary Shares | Health Care | Biotechnology | -17.33% | -26.21% | -25.03% | 0.8823 | 4.9306 | 77.4 | — | — | -29.19% | Micro-cap biotech ADR with no earnings base and heavy relative volume — a clinical setback or financing event, not a sector move. Liquidity risk is the dominant consideration. |
| OMDA | Omada Health, Inc. | Health Care | Health Information Services | -16.32% | -10.73% | 46.87% | 1.1203 | 2.0014 | 94.9 | 27.31 | 67 | -31.67% | The most notable casualty: a digital chronic-care company that had been one of the better six-month performers in health-care services. This is an idiosyncratic hit in a group that had been the funded side of the barbell — the kind of divergence worth checking for guidance or contract news. |
| SNDX | Syndax Pharmaceuticals, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -15.71% | -23.98% | -42.90% | 1.2457 | 4.1708 | 7.1 | — | 69 | -44.53% | Clinical-stage oncology name with elevated volume, extending a steep monthly decline. Additional selling into weakness in developmental biotech is consistent with the broader risk-off in the cohort. |
| FUN | Six Flags Entertainment Corpora | Consumer Discretionary | Leisure | -14.43% | -22.61% | -49.25% | 1.0436 | 5.7286 | 4.4 | — | 68 | -61.85% | Amusement-park operator on the largest relative volume in the whole losers table — a leverage-sensitive consumer discretionary name taking a single-name hit while the dollar strengthens and rate-sensitive duration gets repriced lower. Operating leverage cuts both ways. |
| TSHA | Taysha Gene Therapies, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -13.53% | -28.54% | -23.99% | 1.1665 | 1.8492 | 13.8 | — | 62 | -48.71% | Gene-therapy developer sliding further. The gene-therapy complex is tightly correlated on FDA and manufacturing news, so weakness in one name routinely spills over — check for any regulatory read-through. |
| SLDB | Solid Biosciences Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -13.26% | -33.41% | -29.28% | 0.6241 | 2.5976 | 18.8 | — | 67 | -47.80% | Another gene-therapy name punished in the same complex-wide move. These companies are perpetually dependent on capital markets, and with high-yield credit softening and long duration repriced lower, the funding window matters more than any single data point. |
| CIFR | Cipher Digital Inc. | Information Technology | Information Technology Services | -12.77% | -27.47% | -38.54% | 4.7064 | 3.5868 | 4 | — | 70 | -61.14% | Digital-infrastructure / bitcoin-mining bolt-on taking a double-digit hit on heavy volume. Crypto-linked equities remain among the most fragile cohorts — this selloff coincided with broad weakness in crypto-related ETFs. |
| PS | Pershing Square Inc. | Financials | Asset Management | -12.12% | 19.44% | — | 19.06 | 1.0656 | — | — | 61 | -20.25% | Asset manager declining sharply despite a strongly positive monthly trend — the classic signature of a capital-markets or structure headline rather than a performance issue. Watch share-supply and listing dynamics. |
| NGNE | Neurogene Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -11.78% | -38.77% | 3.85% | 0.4314 | 1.7234 | 48.5 | — | 62 | -49.67% | Clinical-stage gene therapy name down roughly a fifth over the month. Pre-revenue biotech is being repriced hard as investors withdraw funding for hope; the cohort is the single biggest source of fat left-tail damage in this tape. |
| GENB | Generate Biomedicines, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -11.45% | -23.41% | -4.93% | 1.573 | 0.8436 | 58.3 | — | 68 | -39.87% | Recently public biotech with no trading history to lean on, so price discovery is violent. Index and lock-up mechanics can dominate fundamentals in names this young. |
| CDNL | Cardinal Infrastructure Group I | Industrials | Engineering & Construction | -10.99% | -44.48% | -62.60% | 0.3991 | 2.9222 | 12.4 | 20.69 | 63 | -80.26% | Infrastructure engineering small cap with a staggering six-month decline and a young listing profile. The combination of a recent IPO and a depressed momentum score makes this a momentum-vacuum name. |
| CBIO | Crescent Biopharma, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -10.72% | -34.40% | -33.86% | 0.4796 | 0.5337 | 2.6 | — | 75 | -52.15% | Clinical-stage biopharma in the same broad developmental-medicine drawdown. Capital-intensive pipeline with no revenue to cushion the repricing. |
| ASMB | Assembly Biosciences, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -10.67% | -29.77% | -30.91% | 0.4141 | 1.0574 | 50.2 | — | 60 | -47.17% | Micro-cap antiviral developer with elevated volume — selling in low-float biotech tends to be self-reinforcing when there is no fundamental news to anchor buyers. |
| BLSM | BlossomHill Therapeutics, Inc. Common Stock | — | — | -10.36% | -28.79% | — | 0.492 | 0.4705 | — | — | 25 | -42.28% | Unclassified recent listing that has yet to establish a sector identity in the data — worth noting because the absence of a fundamental cushion makes the price action entirely flow- and float-driven. |
| DSGN | Design Therapeutics, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -10.36% | -27.66% | -22.63% | 0.612 | 1.22 | 36.1 | — | 71 | -38.64% | Clinical-stage gene-therapy adjacent name, sharply lower over the month. The pattern across this cohort — heavy downside skew, elevated relative volume, no revenue — is what a funding-driven derating looks like. |
| STTK | Shattuck Labs, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -9.85% | -11.45% | -19.03% | 0.551 | 1.3693 | 45.4 | — | 63 | -31.89% | Immuno-oncology developer declining on above-average volume but holding up better than most peers over the month, which is a relative-strength tell if the cohort ever stabilizes. |
| VSTM | Verastem, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -9.70% | -0.80% | 21.34% | 0.6747 | 1.5024 | 51.8 | — | 67 | -29.98% | The outlier in the group: one of the only decliners here with a positive six-month return and a reasonable momentum score, meaning this looks like profit-taking or a specific headline rather than a structural break. |
| PDFS | PDF Solutions, Inc. | Information Technology | Software - Application | -9.62% | 11.24% | 15.22% | 2.0109 | 1.8103 | 64.2 | 190.48 | 67 | -32.73% | Semiconductor yield-analytics software name with a very rich trailing multiple and a positive monthly trend — a valuation-driven pullback in a market that is actively taking money out of the semiconductor capex complex. |
| SMMT | Summit Therapeutics Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -9.40% | -15.74% | -25.56% | 12.3811 | 1.1568 | 10.9 | — | 81 | -41.17% | The most prominent biotech decliner by market cap, and the epicenter of the sector's risk-off day. Widely held developmental-stage drug names have been the source of the tape's heaviest left-tail damage for two sessions running. |
| SGMT | Sagimet Biosciences Inc. - Series A Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -9.32% | -26.65% | 44.04% | 0.5659 | 1.8585 | 74.2 | — | 63 | -28.56% | Metabolic-disease biotech falling despite a strong six-month run — a give-back of gains rather than a new breakdown, but the cohort correlation means it trades with the group regardless of its own catalyst calendar. |
| AVTX | Avalo Therapeutics, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -9.29% | -25.77% | -13.60% | 0.6441 | 1.7726 | 32.7 | — | 68 | -47.49% | Micro-cap therapeutics name with no revenue and a depressed share price. In this cohort the marginal seller sets the price; there is little valuation support underneath. |
| ASTS | AST SpaceMobile, Inc. - Class A Common Stock | Information Technology | Communication Equipment | -8.54% | -21.56% | -46.86% | 18.3162 | 1.8674 | 9.9 | — | 63 | -64.64% | Satellite-to-phone connectivity name far off its high and still sliding. This is a capital-intensive, pre-revenue infrastructure story that is especially exposed to the current repricing of long-duration equity and higher borrowing costs. |
| ANRO | Alto Neuroscience, Inc. Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -8.53% | -30.27% | -14.45% | 0.8669 | 1.2985 | 65.7 | — | 61 | -39.71% | Neuropsychiatry developer with a high momentum score despite the decline — a sign the technical trend was intact before this single-session hit. One to watch for stabilization rather than a broken story. |
| MPLT | MapLight Therapeutics, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -8.43% | -40.11% | -70.85% | 0.4377 | 0.3567 | 3.3 | — | 60 | -80.21% | CNS-focused biotech down roughly 40% over the month. Neurology and rare-disease is one of the worst-performing themes in the book, so the whole subsector is a source of funds right now. |
| DMRA | Damora Therapeutics, Inc. - Common Stock | Health Care | Biotechnology | -8.37% | -34.62% | -30.56% | 1.1458 | 0.5341 | 72.1 | 4.66 | 63 | -45.64% | Clinical-stage biopharma with a high momentum score into this decline and a low float — a profile that can snap back quickly if the selling is positioning rather than a failed readout. |

What the tape told us
This was a re-ranking tape, not a de-risking tape. The average US stock slipped only modestly, but the distribution of outcomes was badly skewed — roughly 126 names fell 5% or more against about 28 that rose that much. The index masked a wide, sector-specific dispersion.
Gainers: one macro theme, plus a lot of idiosyncratic noise
Three-quarters of the top gainers fell into two buckets:
- Downstream energy. Refiners (PARR, PBF, CVI) and oilfield services (EFXT, FTK) rallied even as WTI fell. That is the crack spread, not the barrel — product margins are driving the group, and integrated oil and gas is the only theme in the book with essentially full participation above its 50-day average. Several of these refiners sit at fresh 52-week highs with single-digit multiples, and momentum scores that are low relative to their cash generation, which says the market still discounts mid-cycle earnings. The risk is simply extension: buying a refiner at RSI 75+ is a different trade than buying one on a pullback to the 50-day.
- Washed-out small caps bouncing off depressed bases. EVH, QDEL, ZURA, SUPX and FRMI are reflex rallies, not repairs. Several carry relative volume far above normal, which for clinical-stage and speculative names usually means a headline — a data readout, a financing, or short covering — rather than a change in fundamentals.
Notably, the gainers also included genuine trend names with real earnings: NSIT at a new high, CDW on strong volume, and CRSR at a 52-week high. These are the more defensible expressions of a technology bid that was, at the index level, under pressure.
Losers: the funding-driven derating of hope
There is no subtlety in the decline column. Health Care is the story, and specifically clinical-stage biotechnology and gene therapy. Roughly two-thirds of the top losers are pre-revenue drug developers (SNDX, TSHA, SLDB, NGNE, GENB, CBIO, ASMB, DSGN, STTK, SGMT, AVTX, ANRO, MPLT, DMRA, ANL) — names with no revenue, no earnings multiple, and an acute dependence on capital markets.
That dependency is the mechanism. Long Treasuries are down over 6% in three months, the dollar has strengthened nearly 4% in a month, and high-yield credit has softened. When the cost of funding future cash flows rises, the longest-duration assets in the equity market — pre-revenue biotech — get repriced first and hardest. This is not a judgment on any individual pipeline; it is a discount-rate event.
The exceptions are informative:
- OMDA was one of the better six-month performers in health-care services before this hit, which suggests a company-specific event rather than a sector move.
- VSTM is the only name in the cohort with a positive six-month return — a give-back, not a breakdown.
- PS, an asset manager, fell double digits despite a strongly positive monthly trend — the signature of a structure or capital-markets headline rather than performance.
- ASTS and CIFR belong to the same duration problem in a different costume: capital-intensive, pre-profit infrastructure stories financed by the capital markets.
Positioning takeaway
The barbell is explicit. Money is on the funded side — energy cash generation, enterprise hardware, health-care services, staples — and it is being taken out of the unfunded side. In that regime, the highest-beta, most idiosyncratically sensitive names get punished faster than the market rewards anything. Note also the concentration of extreme relative volume in the decliners: this was news-driven selling, not slow drift, and news-driven selling in low-float names can overshoot in both directions.
The practical implication is that a single-session mover screen here is mostly a headline detector. The gainers worth attention are the ones with earnings behind them; the losers worth attention are the ones whose decline is idiosyncratic rather than cohort-driven, because those are where the pricing errors are most likely to sit.
