High-yield dividends
Query: US dividend stocks with dividend yield above 3% and payout ratio below 60% · data as of 2026-10-14
Built a two-table dividend screen: 45 highest-yielding US stocks with dividend yield >3% and estimated payout ratio <60% of TTM earnings (ranked by yield descending), plus a secondary top-15 filtered to names that also have positive YoY EPS growth. Columns include sector/industry, yield, payout ratio, market cap, P/E, forward P/E, EPS growth, 1M/6M returns, % from 150D SMA, % from 52W high, and days since earnings. REITs and Utilities were excluded because earnings-based payout ratios are not meaningful for them (REITs distribute from FFO/taxable income), avoiding false positives. Payout ratio was derived from dividend yield / earnings yield (1/P/E) for consistency, and data is as of the latest trading day (2026-10-14).
45 dividend stocks yield above 3% with an estimated payout ratio under 60% of trailing earnings as of October 14, 2026. A tighter list of 15 also shows positive year-over-year EPS growth. Real Estate and Utilities are excluded because earnings-based payout ratios are not meaningful for REITs.

| QFIN | Qfin Holdings, Inc. | Financials | Credit Services | 13.71% | 13.57% | 0.6918 | 0.99 | 1.28 | -0.17% | -29.32% | -55.40% | -50.70% | -78.92% | 49 | Chinese consumer-finance platform; the headline yield reflects a special/large distribution rather than a durable base dividend, so treat the payout figure as flattered. Earnings are sensitive to China credit-cycle and regulatory shifts. |
| WU | Western Union Company (The) | Financials | Credit Services | 11.65% | 56.87% | 1.8869 | 4.88 | 3.99 | -46.52% | -8.54% | -29.39% | -19.08% | -41.15% | 75 | Cash-remittance incumbent trading like a deep-value bond proxy. The dividend is well covered, but the real question is terminal decline in cross-border volumes as digital wallets encroach; yield is high precisely because the market questions the earnings base. |
| FINV | FinVolution Group | Financials | Credit Services | 10.17% | 24.50% | 0.7106 | 2.41 | 2.08 | 11.26% | -7.95% | -37.60% | -32.49% | -56.75% | 211 | China consumer-lending platform; pays out a meaningful share of earnings while still growing. Risks are regulatory and credit-cost driven rather than balance-sheet related. |

Very high payout relative to a soft earnings base - the dividend is affordable but leaves little reinvestment room if input costs bite again. |
| MSIF | MSC Income Fund, Inc. | Financials | Asset Management | 8.11% | 43.96% | 0.5256 | 5.42 | 7.9 | 56.89% | -4.75% | -6.45% | -1.71% | -19.01% | 68 | — |

Payout is close to the ceiling; a risk-asset selloff would pressure both earnings and the share price. |
| NEWT | NewtekOne, Inc. | Financials | Banks - Regional | 7.18% | 34.38% | 0.3059 | 4.79 | 4.36 | 18.99% | -10.84% | -14.24% | -15.95% | -31.94% | 69 | Small-bank/fintech hybrid with a high distribution yield. Regional-bank funding costs and credit normalization are the key swing factors. |

The payout ratio sits at the top of the qualifying band, so any demand relapse would put the dividend under scrutiny. |
| OPFI | OppFi Inc. | Financials | Credit Services | 6.50% | 12.29% | 0.4848 | 1.89 | 2.99 | 74.44% | -21.19% | -34.07% | -30.23% | -50.00% | 64 | Consumer-lending fintech with a modest payout relative to earnings - unlike most high-yield names here, its coverage leaves real headroom, though credit quality in its borrower base is the persistent risk. |
| SFD | Smithfield Foods, Inc. | Consumer Staples | Packaged Foods | 6.50% | 44.18% | 7.2059 | 6.8 | 7.47 | 2.89% | -8.86% | -32.97% | -23.88% | -38.15% | 64 | Recently listed pork producer paying a full distribution. Protein margins are cyclical; the yield reflects a peak-ish earnings base that may not repeat. |
| INSW | International Seaways, Inc. | Energy | Oil & Gas Midstream | 6.37% | 48.33% | 5.8813 | 7.59 | 18.85 | -25.79% | 10.21% | 77.26% | 41.46% | -5.04% | 65 | — |

| LPG | Dorian LPG Ltd. | Energy | Oil & Gas Midstream | 6.07% | 44.43% | 2.3616 | 7.32 | 12.87 | 114.78% | -2.85% | 62.44% | 28.99% | -5.33% | 70 | LPG shipping pure-play; dividends are freight-rate driven and therefore volatile. Strong coverage now, but shipping payouts can be cut quickly when rates roll over. |
| MOMO | Hello Group Inc. | Communication Services | Internet Content & Information | 5.95% | 42.45% | 0.6765 | 7.14 | 4.39 | -19.02% | -5.23% | -23.91% | -17.28% | -33.29% | 41 | — |

Coverage is comfortable only at current gas prices. |
| HG | Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. | Financials | Insurance - Reinsurance | 5.70% | 34.95% | 3.4594 | 6.13 | 7.41 | 37.00% | -0.51% | 12.65% | 6.75% | -5.90% | 68 | Specialty reinsurer with improving underwriting and a growing dividend. Payout is conservative relative to peers, so it screens as a higher-quality income name than its yield suggests. |

One of the more defensive names on the list - the yield is modest because the market values the cash-flow consistency. |

Takeaway
Reading the screen
This is a search for dividends covered by earnings, not merely by cash flow — so the payout ratio is the binding constraint, and it separates genuine income from yield traps.
The high-yield tier (8%+) is dominated by non-standard business models. Consumer-lending platforms (Qfin, FinVolution, OppFi), asset managers and BDCs (MSIF, Virtus), and shipping/freight names pay out a large share of earnings, but those earnings are cyclical or rate- and market-sensitive. Their coverage looks fine today; the risk is that the earnings base normalizes.
The mid-tier (4–7%) is where the more durable, cash-generative businesses sit — regulated utilities-adjacent telecoms (Comcast, Verizon), insurers (Arch Capital, Hamilton, American Coastal), regional banks, and staples. Yields here are lower precisely because the market trusts the cash flows more.
A sector caveat: REITs and Utilities were deliberately excluded. For REITs, GAAP earnings are depressed by depreciation, so an earnings-based payout ratio vastly overstates the true distribution burden (REITs distribute from FFO and taxable income). Utilities were dropped for the same reason — heavy rate-base capex and regulatory accounting distort GAAP-EPS payout math. Including them would have flooded the list with false positives.
How to use it: the second table adds a positive year-over-year EPS growth filter, which trims the list to names where the dividend is both covered and the earnings that cover it are expanding — the healthiest combination for income investors. Names where payout is near the 60% ceiling (Whirlpool, Campbell's, Conagra, several regional banks) have the least cushion if earnings disappoint.
