45 US-listed ETFs are in a confirmed uptrend yet trading within 8% of their 150-day moving average, ranked by 1-year total return. The list is dominated by international and emerging-market equity funds (Korea, Asia, EM ex-China, Japan), thematic tech baskets (AI infrastructure, quantum, connective tech) and momentum-factor products — a broad-based risk-on tape with leadership rotating overseas while US large-cap growth digests recent gains.
Uptrend ETFs Pulling Back Near Their 150-Day Average
| Symbol | Name | ETF Theme | 1D Return | 1M Return | 6M Return | 1Y Return | % from 150D SMA | % from 52W High | Relative Volume | Momentum Potential | Top Holdings | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EWY | iShares MSCI South Korea ETF | South Korea | 0.54% | -3.03% | 27.76% | 115.25% | 3.54% | -19.14% | 0.3904 | 79.8 | 000660.KQ, 005930.KQ, 402340.KQ, 009150.KQ, 105560.KQ, 005380.KQ, 055550.KQ, 086790.KQ, 012450.KQ, 006400.KQ | Korea is the purest high-beta play on the AI memory cycle — Samsung and SK Hynix dominate the holdings. Extremely rate- and dollar-sensitive, so a firmer greenback is the main swing factor; the sharp monthly lag shows how fast this trade can unwind when global liquidity tightens. |
| TCAI | Tortoise AI Infrastructure ETF | AI Infrastructure | 1.30% | 2.98% | 18.66% | 48.74% | 1.70% | -18.72% | 0.3885 | 73.8 | DELL, VRT, MU, SNDK, CIEN, STX, PWR, NVT, WDC, CEG | Small thematic fund built around physical AI infrastructure — power, cooling, storage, networking rather than chips. Relatively high turnover and a concentrated book make it a sharper version of the data-center capex theme; watch liquidity given the modest asset base. |
| XBI | State Street SPDR S&P Biotech ETF | Biotech | 3.00% | -1.94% | 18.91% | 46.46% | 6.59% | -9.31% | 1.3935 | 76.7 | MRNA, TWST, APGE, KYMR, HALO, NTRA, PRAX, ORKA, RVMD, TVTX | Equal-weighted biotech is the cleanest way to own small/mid-cap clinical catalysts without mega-cap drug pricing noise. M&A activity and FDA decisions are the real drivers here, and the fund has historically been a high-volatility vehicle when risk appetite turns. |
| AIA | iShares Asia 50 ETF | Asia 50 | 1.04% | 0.72% | 23.26% | 46.26% | 6.62% | -6.80% | 0.478 | 82 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, 000660.KQ, D05.SI, 00939, 2308.TW, 1299.HK | Taiwan Semiconductor is the anchor and effectively ties this fund to the global AI/compute supply chain. Its non-US index composition makes it a diversifier versus US tech, but it means a Taiwan-strait or export-control headline is the key tail risk. |
| EMXC | iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ex China ETF | Emerging Markets ex China | 0.81% | -0.20% | 17.07% | 46.13% | 5.67% | -7.01% | 0.7369 | 72.9 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 2454.TW, 2308.TW, 005935, 2317.TW, HDFCBANK.NS, ICICIBANK.NS, RELIANCE.NS | Deliberately excludes China, which is why it has outrun broad EM — India, Taiwan and Korea carry the weight instead. A structural beneficiary if investors keep ring-fencing China risk, but the ex-China tilt leaves it more expensive and more tech-heavy than standard EM. |
| EPU | iShares MSCI Peru and Global Exposure ETF | Peru | 2.28% | -0.11% | 7.56% | 45.69% | 6.74% | -4.52% | 0.247 | 61.1 | SCCO, BAP, HOC.L, BVN, 1208.HK, VOLCABC1, CVERDEC1.LM, WPM.TO, FERREYC1.LM, FVI.TO | Tiny, idiosyncratic country fund dominated by copper miners and financials — essentially a leveraged bet on metals prices and Peruvian political stability. Very thin trading and wide spreads make it a specialist instrument only. |
| XCEM | Columbia EM Core ex-China ETF | Emerging Markets ex-China | 0.74% | 0.25% | 16.51% | 42.87% | 5.62% | -6.39% | 3.368 | 71.8 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 2454.TW, 2308.TW, 2317.TW, 009150.KQ, 006400.KQ, IBN, 3711.TW | A cheaper, rules-based alternative to the larger ex-China EM funds, tilting toward Korean and Taiwanese semis. Same macro sensitivities as the rest of the ex-China complex — dollar direction and EM fund flows drive the swings. |
| ICOP | iShares Copper and Metals Mining ETF | Copper Mining | 3.67% | -1.78% | 4.79% | 42.49% | 4.80% | -10.53% | 0.2648 | 45.3 | GMEXICOB.MX, AAL.L, FCX, BHP.AX, EVN.AX, TECK-B.TO, RIO, SCCO, FM.TO, ANTO.L | Global copper miners, so the underlying variable is the copper price plus Chinese industrial demand. Supply-side constraints and electrification demand are the structural bull case; a China slowdown is the obvious risk. |
| BCI | abrdn Bloomberg All Commodity Strategy K-1 Free ETF | Broad Commodity | 0.15% | -2.20% | 10.63% | 38.76% | 6.88% | -2.20% | 0.7701 | 67.1 | — | Broad commodity basket with a K-1-free structure that made it a popular tax-efficient alternative to futures-based commodity funds. Highly correlated with oil and metals, and structurally exposed to contango drag depending on the roll. |
| QTUM | Defiance Quantum ETF | Quantum Computing | 0.78% | 4.75% | 30.92% | 37.00% | 7.07% | -9.90% | 0.6938 | 72.7 | ESTC, 3443.TW, ARQQ, HQ, PLTR, NET, SNOW, NTNX, RDNT, MDB | Quantum computing exposure is thin on pure plays, so the fund leans on adjacent names like Palantir and data infrastructure. That makes it a high-beta AI sentiment proxy more than a true quantum bet — expect amplified moves in both directions. |
| UFOX | Defiance Connective Technologies ETF | Connective Technologies | 0.97% | 6.75% | 18.56% | 35.49% | 3.67% | -17.87% | 0.4629 | 63.6 | SPCX, AAPL, NVDA, AVGO, CSCO, RKLB, MXL, MRVL, ASTS, ANET | Owns connectivity infrastructure — satellite, networking and RF names including AST SpaceMobile and Rocket Lab. Carries meaningful speculative-growth risk; the recent monthly strength reflects enthusiasm for space/connectivity capex. |
| GVAL | Cambria Global Value ETF | Global Value | 0.60% | -1.56% | 10.54% | 35.47% | 7.14% | -2.94% | 0.6086 | 60 | ATS.VI, MONET.PR, FXFXX, MINEROS.CL, KOMB.PR, GRUPOSURA.CL, KGH.WA, CEZ.PR, RBI.VI, TUPRS.IS | A genuinely contrarian book of obscure global value names with low US correlation, which is why it has held up when domestic momentum wobbled. Illiquid and heavily EM-weighted — great diversifier, poor trading vehicle. |
| DFEV | Dimensional Emerging Markets Value ETF | Emerging Markets Value | 1.00% | 0.43% | 14.36% | 35.17% | 5.64% | -4.68% | 4.1291 | 64.4 | 000660.KQ, 00939, RELIANCE.NS, 2317.TW, SMSN, 01398, 2454.TW, 005930.KQ, 9988.HK, 03988 | Systematic EM value with a deep-value tilt toward financials and materials across Asia. Historically lags in momentum-led markets but tends to outperform when value and EM breadth broaden out. |
| PATN | Pacer Nasdaq International Patent Leaders ETF | Patent Leaders | 0.70% | 0.53% | 16.88% | 34.92% | 4.02% | -7.22% | 0.5468 | 61.8 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, ASML.AS, 0700.HK, 7203.T, NOVN.SW, ROP.SW, SAP.DE, 9988.HK | Owns international patent-rich leaders — semis, autos, pharma — as a proxy for global R&D intensity. Provides non-US innovation exposure with lower China concentration than headline EM funds. |
| CLSE | Convergence Long/Short Equity ETF | Long/Short Equity | 0.23% | 1.71% | 14.51% | 34.45% | 5.53% | -0.15% | 0.4875 | 71.8 | NVDA, AVGO, AMZN, GOOGL, MU, GOOG, AAPL, SOXX, SNDK, FTNT | A long/short book that has been running net-long AI beta, so its hedging benefit is smaller than the label implies. Useful as a lower-volatility way to stay exposed to the same megacap tech leadership. |
| FMTM | MarketDesk Focused U.S. Momentum ETF | US Momentum | 1.99% | 8.25% | 11.42% | 34.19% | 4.66% | -6.58% | 0.9737 | 49.8 | CRWD, OKTA, SNOW, MAN, TWLO, PANW, MRVL, ILMN, FTNT, DELL | Focused US momentum name with a concentrated cyber/software book — Okta, CrowdStrike, Snowflake, Palo Alto. Strong recent relative strength but the narrow holdings mean single-stock blowups hit the fund hard; rebalancing can create momentum whipsaws. |
| VPL | Vanguard FTSE Pacific ETF | Pacific | 0.71% | -0.38% | 10.99% | 32.50% | 4.13% | -4.44% | 0.5312 | 54.7 | 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 8306.T, BHP.AX, 7203.T, CBA.AX, 8316.T, 8035.T, 6098.T, 6857.T | Broad developed-Pacific exposure with Japan and Australia dominating. A weak-dollar, global-growth recovery trade; conversely it is one of the most dollar-sensitive entries on this list. |
| SEIV | SEI Enhanced U.S. Large Cap Value Factor ETF | US Large Cap Value | -0.44% | -0.50% | 18.73% | 29.80% | 6.38% | -3.10% | 0.7166 | 70.9 | NVDA, AAPL, VZ, GOOG, MU, GM, CAH, MSFT, ADBE, C | Large-cap US value with a quality overlay and an unusually heavy semiconductor weighting for a value fund, blurring the style definition. Offers cheaper valuation than the index with less tech concentration than momentum peers. |
| IDHQ | Invesco S&P International Developed Quality ETF | International Developed Quality | 1.11% | -0.01% | 16.26% | 29.43% | 5.64% | -5.78% | 1.1052 | 58.7 | ROP.SW, ASML.AS, NOVN.SW, NESN.SW, SAP.DE, RR.L, ALV.DE, 6098.T, 6857.T, ABBN.SW | International developed quality — high-ROE, low-leverage names in Europe, Japan and Switzerland. Tends to lag in sharp risk-on rallies but holds up better in drawdowns; euro and yen exposure is a material part of the return. |
| EWJV | iShares MSCI Japan Value ETF | Japan Value | -0.07% | -1.99% | 10.05% | 29.29% | 5.53% | -4.59% | 1.1493 | 47.3 | 8306.T, 7203.T, 8316.T, 8411.T, 8058.T, 9984.T, 8031.T, 6752.T, 9433.T, 2914.T | Japan value plays directly into the corporate-governance and buyback story, and the weak-yen tailwind for exporters. Japan-specific policy (BoJ rate path, currency intervention) is the dominant driver. |
| VFMF | Vanguard U.S. Multifactor ETF | Multifactor | 0.16% | -0.32% | 13.81% | 28.98% | 5.65% | -2.71% | 1.7834 | 60.7 | MU, BMY, NEM, TRV, MO, BNY, COP, MRK, EOG, ABBV | Multi-factor US book blending value, momentum, quality and low-volatility — designed to be smoother than any single-factor fund. That structure means it rarely leads but seldom craters, a core-style holding. |
| CPER | United States Copper Index Fund ETV | Copper | 2.15% | 3.25% | 12.38% | 28.46% | 5.74% | -2.70% | 0.8102 | 55.3 | — | Physical copper ETV, so the return is nearly a pure reflection of the copper price with no equity dilution. Sensitive to Chinese property and grid demand; contango and roll costs are the structural drag to understand. |
| JIVE | JPMorgan International Value ETF | International Value | 0.51% | -3.59% | 8.83% | 27.43% | 2.01% | -5.65% | 1.0565 | 40.7 | 005930.KQ, 2330.TW, HSBA.L, NESN.SW, SHEL.L, 8306.T, ROP.SW, JIMXX, NOVN.SW, ALV.DE | International value tilted toward European banks and energy — exactly the parts of the market that have lagged US mega-cap tech. A deep-value cyclical bet that needs global growth and higher rates to work. |
| GMOI | GMO International Value ETF | International Value | 0.26% | -4.67% | 5.27% | 27.37% | 1.65% | -6.85% | 0.1515 | 32.7 | TTE.PA, BNS.TO, BBVA, BNP.PA, RIO, SNY, DBK.DE, 9432.T, GSK, TD | Concentrated GMO-led international value with a strong valuation discipline and limited overlap with passive peers. The recent monthly drawdown reflects Europe and UK weakness; illiquidity is a practical constraint. |
| EMGF | iShares Emerging Markets Equity Factor ETF | Emerging Markets Multi-Factor | 1.28% | -0.53% | 11.56% | 26.87% | 3.31% | -6.40% | 0.4516 | 41.3 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, 00939, 2308.TW, 01398, 2317.TW | Multi-factor EM with a quality and value tilt, spreading risk across Asia tech and EM financials. Sits between pure country funds and single-factor strategies; still dominated by the same dollar/EM-flow driver. |
| CALF | Pacer US Small Cap Cash Cows ETF | Small Cap Cash Cows | -0.16% | -1.58% | 21.49% | 26.79% | 7.56% | -5.63% | 0.5161 | 59.1 | THC, EXPE, AU, OMC, EXE, LDOS, BIIB, GDDY, EQT, ZM | Cash-flow-screened US small caps — profitable, low-capex businesses rather than speculative growth. Historically resilient in late-cycle environments, though small caps generally need falling rates and improving credit to outperform. |
| FWD | AB Disruptors ETF | Disruptors | 1.26% | 5.87% | 12.46% | 26.47% | 3.42% | -10.16% | 0.5859 | 35.3 | NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, 2330.TW, GOOGL, AMD, ASML, AVGO, MRK, CAT | Disruptive-growth book with a global tilt including Taiwan and ASML, giving it both AI exposure and non-US semiconductor diversity. Higher fee and dispersed holdings make it a broader, slower version of a pure AI bet. |
| MTUM | iShares MSCI USA Momentum Factor ETF | Momentum Factor | 0.84% | 5.77% | 21.85% | 25.88% | 7.72% | -7.31% | 0.4937 | 51.8 | MU, AMD, INTC, CSCO, JNJ, AMAT, SNDK, GOOGL, PANW, XOM | The flagship US momentum factor vehicle — currently heavy in semis and insurers rather than the software names that lead other momentum funds. Its methodology means positions are added after strength and can look stale into a rotation. |
| JMOM | JPMorgan U.S. Momentum Factor ETF | U.S. Large Cap Momentum | 0.88% | 4.18% | 19.10% | 25.81% | 7.33% | -0.79% | 0.733 | 64.4 | NVDA, MSFT, AAPL, MU, AVGO, JNJ, GOOGL, AMD, META, PLTR | JPMorgan's US large-cap momentum book has tracked broad momentum closely and remains a core holding for investors wanting factor exposure without single-stock risk. Long positions in the same megacap leaders as the index. |
| DFUV | Dimensional US Marketwide Value ETF | US Marketwide Value | 0.27% | -1.03% | 12.57% | 25.80% | 4.38% | -3.22% | 0.5514 | 45.8 | JPM, AMZN, XOM, MU, JNJ, BRK-B, CVX, CSCO, UNH, BAC | Market-wide US value with a Dimensional profitability screen — the overlap with large-cap value is high but the small/mid-cap tail adds breadth. A steady compounder rather than a tactical instrument. |
| VONV | Vanguard Russell 1000 Value ETF | US Large Cap Value | 0.62% | 0.41% | 15.06% | 25.71% | 6.07% | -2.27% | 1.0482 | 52.4 | AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, JPM, BRK-B, XOM, JNJ, CSCO, WMT, ABBV | Russell 1000 Value with an index-plus structure — the cleanest large-cap value core. Heavily weighted in financials and health care, so it is a rate-path and value-rotation proxy as much as a stock bet. |
| IWD | iShares Russell 1000 Value ETF | US Large Cap Value | 0.61% | 0.45% | 15.06% | 25.63% | 6.07% | -2.25% | 0.7612 | 52.4 | AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, JPM, BRK-B, XOM, JNJ, CSCO, WMT, ABBV | The largest, most liquid large-cap value fund; ideal as a value anchor. Its AMZN/AAPL/MSFT overlap means it is less of a pure value bet than the name suggests, which cuts both ways. |
| AAXJ | iShares MSCI All Country Asia ex Japan ETF | Asia ex Japan | 0.93% | -0.57% | 13.01% | 25.56% | 3.21% | -6.98% | 0.6657 | 34.9 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, D05.SI, 2308.TW, 005935, 00939 | Asia ex-Japan broad exposure with Taiwan and Korea semis dominating. Cheap relative to developed markets but entirely dependent on EM risk appetite and the dollar. |
| SPMO | Invesco S&P 500 Momentum ETF | Momentum Factor | 0.21% | 2.63% | 22.94% | 25.54% | 6.77% | -6.50% | 0.6859 | 48.9 | MU, NVDA, AVGO, JNJ, GOOGL, AMD, GOOG, LRCX, XOM, CAT | Concentrated S&P 500 momentum with a heavy semi/energy book — a levered version of the index's strongest names. Rebalancing frequency matters; sharp reversals in leadership can cause meaningful tracking gaps. |
| ESGE | iShares ESG Aware MSCI EM ETF | Emerging Markets ESG | 1.04% | -0.06% | 12.51% | 25.36% | 4.42% | -4.61% | 0.8604 | 36.4 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, 00939, 2308.TW, 005935, 2412.TW | ESG-screened EM index that tracks broad EM closely while excluding controversial names. The screening can create sector tilts versus plain EEM, subtly changing the risk profile without changing the macro driver. |
| COPY | Tweedy, Browne Insider + Value ETF | Insider Value | 0.20% | -1.73% | 8.19% | 25.01% | 2.67% | -4.55% | 0.6321 | 28 | EB5.SI, BKT.MC, PEY.TO, DINO, REP.MC, IGG.L, NA.TO, NORION.ST, 086790.KQ, CCC.L | Unusual strategy combining an insider-buying signal with deep value, resulting in a global book of small, unloved names. Genuinely differentiated from momentum funds and low correlation to US tech. |
| EEM | iShares MSCI Emerging Index Fund | Emerging Markets | 1.06% | -0.30% | 10.88% | 24.99% | 3.27% | -6.19% | 0.7574 | 26.9 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, 2308.TW, 005935, 00939, 2317.TW | The benchmark EM fund — cheapest and most liquid route to the asset class, and still dominated by Chinese and Taiwanese tech. The dollar and China policy headlines drive most of its day-to-day. |
| AVDV | Avantis International Small Cap Value ETF | International Small Cap Value | 0.74% | -2.07% | 4.69% | 24.88% | 2.80% | -4.60% | 0.7852 | 21.6 | ATS.VI, PRU.AX, RRL.AX, BTO.TO, WTB.L, CDE, BGEO.L, CLIS.TA, BRBY.L, OGC.TO | International small-cap value — a segment retail investors rarely reach, and historically a strong long-run factor combination. High dispersion and illiquidity mean wide tracking versus large-cap value. |
| EWJ | iShares MSCI Japan Index Fund | Japan | 0.55% | 1.47% | 11.64% | 24.86% | 6.39% | -1.47% | 0.6031 | 37.6 | 8306.T, 7203.T, 8316.T, 8035.T, 6857.T, 6098.T, 6501.T, 6758.T, 8411.T, 9984.T | Broad Japan exposure with an unhedged currency — Toyota, banks, semis and industrial exporters. Corporate governance reform and yen weakness are the twin drivers; it is a purer Japan bet than the value-tilted peers. |
| JVAL | JPMorgan U.S. Value Factor ETF | U.S. Value Factor | 0.30% | 0.72% | 16.79% | 24.73% | 5.49% | -2.86% | 0.2002 | 43.8 | MSFT, AAPL, MU, GOOGL, NVDA, AVGO, META, JNJ, INTC, LRCX | US value factor with a JPMorgan tilt toward larger, more profitable names. A slightly more defensive value option than the Russell 1000 Value benchmark. |
| EEMA | iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Asia ETF | Emerging Markets Asia | 0.93% | -0.49% | 13.46% | 24.64% | 3.34% | -5.26% | 0.1403 | 31.6 | 2330.TW, 005930.KQ, 000660.KQ, 0700.HK, 9988.HK, 2454.TW, 2308.TW, 00939, 2317.TW, HDFCBANK.NS | Asia EM with a heavy Taiwan and Korea semiconductor weighting and no Latin America or EMEA offset — more concentrated than broad EM. Higher beta to the AI hardware cycle as a result. |
| FYX | First Trust Small Cap Core AlphaDEX Fund | US Small Cap Core | 0.28% | -2.04% | 8.73% | 24.57% | 0.76% | -7.70% | 0.4548 | 13.1 | EFOR, CBZ, PBF, CNMD, GTM, LPG, PARR, TDW, TWST, AAMI | AlphaDEX small-cap core uses a quantitative multi-factor screen, giving it a different name mix than the Russell 2000. Small caps need the same falling-rate and credit-improvement backdrop as the cash-cows strategy. |
| QQQJ | Invesco NASDAQ Next Gen 100 ETF | Nasdaq Next Gen 100 | 1.12% | 3.20% | 18.16% | 24.54% | 5.60% | -3.89% | 0.5484 | 40.2 | NTRA, EBAY, RVMD, CRDO, FLEX, NTAP, MDB, EXPE, KMB, UAL | Holds the second tier of the Nasdaq — profitable mid-caps like MDB and CRDO rather than the megacap leaders. Offers growth exposure with less mega-cap concentration but similar sensitivity to tech sentiment. |
| TDI | Touchstone Dynamic International ETF | International Equity | 0.54% | -0.61% | 5.94% | 24.53% | 3.29% | -2.88% | 0.5647 | 20.9 | 2330.TW, ASML.AS, DGCXX, 005930.KQ, ISP.MI, BAMI.MI, UCG.MI, 6758.T, O39.SI, 1299.HK | Tactical international equity with Italian and Japanese bank/semi exposure. Active allocation and modest liquidity relative to its AUM make it a satellite holding rather than a core. |
| GREK | Global X MSCI Greece ETF | Greece | -0.53% | -8.43% | 12.87% | 23.99% | 4.71% | -9.61% | 0.3641 | 18.2 | ETE.AT, EUROB.AT, TPEIR.AT, ALPHA.AT, PPC.AT, MOH.AT, GEKTERNA.AT, MTLN.L, HTO.AT, BELA.AT | Greek equities — a bank-heavy recovery story tied to Eurozone credit, tourism and sovereign spreads. The sharp monthly decline reflects how quickly this peripheral-market trade can reverse; highly concentrated and volatile. |
What this screen captures
Where the pullback is happening
Every name here clears two conditions: a live uptrend chart pattern and price sitting within 8% of the 150-day simple moving average — an intact long-term trend that has cooled off rather than broken. That combination tends to mark continuation setups: the trend-following crowd is still long, but near-term froth has been worked off, so entries sit closer to a defined stop (the 150D line) than they would at the highs.
The composition is telling. The top of the list is overwhelmingly non-US: Korea (EWY), Asia 50 (AIA), EM ex-China (EMXC/XCEM), Japan (EWJV/EWJ), Peru, Pacific and broad EM factor funds. US-heavy exposure appears mainly through momentum and value factor vehicles (MTUM, JMOM, SPMO, FWD, IWD/VONV) rather than pure-index products — consistent with a market where mega-cap leadership is narrow and factor selection matters more than beta. A handful of specialist themes round it out: AI infrastructure (TCAI), quantum (QTUM), connectivity (UFOX), copper (ICOP/CPER) and biotech (XBI).
How to read the columns
- % from 150D SMA is the core filter: values near zero mean the pullback has brought price right back to the trend line, which is where trend re-entries historically cluster.
- % from 52W High separates healthy pullbacks from damaged charts. Shallow drawdowns combined with a positive 1Y return tend to score highest on Momentum Potential.
- Relative Volume flags whether the pullback is happening on quiet volume (constructive) or heavy selling (a warning).
What could go wrong
A cluster of country funds near their 150D average usually means one thing: a shared macro driver — dollar strength, rate expectations, China sentiment — is pressuring them all at once. If that driver intensifies, these are not independent bets. EM and Asia exposure is more FX-sensitive than US funds, so the direction of the dollar is the key variable to monitor. On the thematic side, several funds are concentrated, thinly traded, or carry elevated fees, so position sizing and spread costs matter as much as the trend signal. Finally, with a heavy earnings calendar ahead, guidance-driven gaps can overwhelm technical setups in the short run.
